skittlesWith Skittles adding a new video this week and Facebook launching a new home page for users as well as a new Facebook Page. I thought this might start to effect the Skilttles campaign form last week. This week was a mixed bag of good and bad, some of the numbers are going way up and others are doing just ok. Check out below for more details.

YouTube (views)
Transplant the Rainbow: 2,115
Skittles – Tailor: 3,828 Views
Skittles – Sour Man: 3,609 Views
Skittles – Pinata Man: 3,335 Views
We’re see a nice increase in the videos this week, which includes a new one being added by the Skittles team. The new video, Transplant the Rainbow, is almost doing as well as the videos that were launched during the launch last week The videos are getting a 50-100% increase in views since last week.

Twitter Search: 100 Search Pages with 24 Hours
We are now starting to see a decline in the Twitter Search results. It took a mere 24 hours for the “Skittles” terms to reach its 100 page results limit last Friday. Today we are seeing that it’s taking almost 3 days to reach the same end point. This is a telling sign that the Skittles momentum is starting to wear down after just a few weeks of being on the scene.

Facebook Friends: 608,364
Skittles has a lot of friends on their profile page and this week is no different. They increase their friend count by about  15,000. According to Inside Facebook this week would still put Skittles in the second position only to Barack Obama for the most popular page on Facebook.

Flickr: Photos: 17,346
As I mentioned last week, the number of photos on Flickr is going to be the most interesting of the key metrics to track. We are only seeing an increas of 500+ photos in the last 8 days. This can’t be a good sign for the longevity of this campaign.

Conclusion
I think when we start to analys the early data from this weeks Twiiter and Flickrs numbers, we can start to see the momentum dying down for Skilttles. It’s like Mitch Joel said his week, you need to keep creating fresh content. Will Skittles be able to keep up this momentum for the long run?. Turn in next Friday to find out but I don’t think we’ll see the same increase.
